Sheila Blair-Reid (BCOM ’86) joined the team in Strategic Engagement as Assistant Vice-President Nova Scotia Engagement. In this new role, Sheila will focus exclusively on overseeing our Nova Scotia Engagement Days program, which began last fall (2024) and is expanding this year to visit a wide range of communities across the province.

Sheila has a lifelong association with Dalhousie. Both her parents spent their careers at Dal – her father, Dr. Huntley Blair, as a professor of Biochemistry in the Faculty of Medicine and her mother, Ana Blair, as a secretary in a variety of departments.

Previously, she was the owner and publisher at Metro Guide Publishing, which she and her team built into Atlantic Canada’s largest magazine publishing house. After Metro Guide Publishing, Sheila formed Spring Business Solutions. As its principal consultant, she acted as a strategic thinking and planning coach, helping organizations to achieve their goals. She is a past Women of Excellence, Small Business of the Year, Tourism Service Provider and Ambassador Award recipient. Sheila helped form Destination Halifax and was on the advisory board of the Tourism Partnership.

She’s been a national and regional volunteer with the Kids Help Phone, a past board member for Feed Nova Scotia and the MacPhee Centre for Creative Learning, and currently serves on the board of Armbrae Academy.
