Congratulations to Amanda Carey (Nursing) who is this year's recipient of the Dr. Ron Stewart Award for Student Leadership in Global Health.Ìý This annual award - given to a student in the Faculty of Medicine, Health Professions or Dentistry - recognizes student achievements through:
- demonstrated leadership in global health;
- work experience with marginalized communities;
- engagement in global health research.
Amanda has made global health a part of her personal and professional life during her time at Dalhousie as a participant in the Global Health Office Summer Program in The Gambia and Tanzania; a graduate of the Advocates in Global Health Certificate Program; local co-coordinator for the North America Mobility Project Nursing Exchange Program; and her involvement with the WHO/PAHO Collaborating Centre.
