Uniform update - Spring 2025

Employees may now order their uniforms online fromÌý (formerly Mark's Work Wearhouse). A uniform committee made up of staff has worked together to choose the uniform styles and colours.Ìý

UPDATED PROCEDURE

Staff will receive:

• FiveÌý²õ³ó¾±°ù³Ù²õ/³Ù´Ç±è²õ.
• ThreeÌýbottoms (pants/shorts/overalls)ÌýÌý
• Term and Probationary employees will be entitled to 2 tops and 1 bottom; balance to be issued upon becoming a Regular employee.Ìý ÌýÌý

Staff will no longer have to physically go to a Mark’s store location.

All uniforms will be ordered online. We will be providing assistance and training on the online ordering process and will work withÌý supervisors to make this as simple as possible.

SHIRTS:

We will have each uniform shirt style in each size in Halifax at the Central Services Building and on campus in Truro. Staff willÌý be able to try on the samples, make their selection and then order them online. Ìý

PANTS/SHORTS/COVERALLS/OVERALLS

There will be one sample of each available style. Staff will be able to make their selection based on sizing and then order them online.Ìý

DELIVERY

The shirts and pants will be delivered to the CSB in Halifax and the FM office in Truro and we will distribute from there.Ìý

Custodial Uniforms

Custodians will wear navy except for the tunic which is only available in black.Ìý

• Custodians can wear navy or black pants/shorts or scrubs.ÌýNo jeans.

Paint Shop Uniforms

Painters will wear white.

• Bib overalls are available as an option along with pants. Painters can choose white or black pants. No jeans.

Trades/Trucking/Grounds/Logistics Uniforms

These employees will wear charcoal.

• Coveralls and bib overalls are available as an option along with pants in black or navy. No jeans.

RETURNS/EXCHANGES

EXCHANGES – BOTTOMS AVAILABLE IN STORE

Almost all styles of bottoms can be exchanged in store except for styles listed below (scrubs, women’s shorts, women's Carhartt workpants and elastic waist cargos).

If the item is available in store, you may take the item to the store and exchange them for the correct size, but you MUST HAVE THE RECEIPT that came in the package.

(In HRM the store in Bayer’s Lake has the widest selection of industrial clothing)

*You can only exchange for the exact same item. For example, if you want to exchange shorts, you can only get the same style shorts. If you want to exchange pants, you can only get the same style pant. You cannot exchange womens for mens, etc.

RETURNS – BOTTOMS AVAILABLE IN STORE

In some cases you may not be able to exchange your pants/shorts in store. Maybe the size up or down is still not suitable. Now you need to fill out a form. You can find that form here Ìý

RETURNS – BOTTOMS AVAILABLE ONLINE ONLY

The following items are NOT available in store:

• Women’s shorts 773EXS, 013EXS
• Mens cargo pants MC MN CARGO NV
• Womens cargo pants MC WN CARGO NV
• Women’s Carhartt Pants 105113-I26

****Note, that you cannot return any bottoms to the store and get a Gift Card, Credit, or cash.

RETURNS – TOPS

Shirts cannot be returned in store as they are branded as Dalhousie Facilities Management.
