The Elephant in the Room is a conversation series designed to engage students, faculty and staff in a dialogue around the topic of diversity and inclusion and its importance on our campus and in our communities.
The series, consisting of three, 2-3-hour sessions, is an interactive and thoughtful opportunity to share insights, ask questions, and hear both different and similar perspectives on important – and occasionally challenging – topics around diversity and inclusion, our understanding of it and how it applies to our professional communities.
Facilitators from Human Rights and Equity Services invite staff and faculty to join them on the Agricultural Campus Thursday, February 2nd from 2-4pm for Level 1 of Elephant in the Room.
In this first level you will learn to:
- Identify the difference between diversity and inclusion.
- Explore why inclusive and respectful communities are yOUR responsibility.
- Explore the concept of Allyship and what it means to be an active ally in yOUR community.
